Having Difficulty Affording Prescription Eye Glasses?  New Eyes for the Needy: New Eyes purchases new prescription eyeglasses for low-income individuals in the U.S. through a voucher program. To be eligible for our program, applicants must: 1. Meet household requirements for low-income. 2. Have had a recent eye exam with a pupillary distance measurement. New Eyes does not pay for eye exams. Contact Us if you need assistance in locating a source of free or low-cost eye exams. 3. Have no other resources available to them to pay for glasses, including federal or state programs or assistance from local charitable organizations. A New Eyes voucher provides a basic pair of single or lined bifocal eyeglasses. Individuals cannot apply for themselves. The online application is only accessible to social service agencies who apply on their clients behalf. Help for Homeless Veterans: Tuesday June 5, 2018, from 1pm-3pm at the Project Blessing Food Pantry, 150 S. 20th St, Reedsport. First Tuesday of every month. Douglas County HUD-VASH and UCAN representatives will be on site to provide assistance to all homeless veterans.

Trauma Recovery Support Group (TREM) TREM stands for Trauma Recovery & Empowerment Model and is a trauma-education support group focused on overcoming the effects of physical, emotional, and/or sexual trauma that clients have experienced in their lives. Classes include questions and exercises designed to help clients build skills for healthy relationships in all aspects of their lives. All course content, records of those attending, etc. is 100% confidential. TREM is a 24 week support group. Clients can join the current group schedule up to week 4, if they are joining after week 4 they will need to wait for the next available group. TREM currently offers the following Weekly times Available Until May 16, 2018: Tuesday Morning: 10:00-11:00am; Wednesday Afternoon: 1:-00-2:00pm; Thursday Evening: 5:30-6:30pm.
